DIY Disney Dress and Wire Mouse Ears

DIY Disney Dress and Wire Mouse Ears

One of my favorite things to do when planning a trip is putting together outfits. I love it even more if I can throw in some handmade outfits, but it's been awhile since I've made anything so it didn't even occur to me that I could make something for our upcoming Disney trip until the week of our departure. In my usual fashion, I decided last minute to throw together an outfit for Isabelle and I couldn't be happier with how well it turned out.

Seattle: "10 Things I Hate About You" Style

If you knew me well, you'd know that I'm absolutely head over heels for movies and television. That isn't really shocking news since most people also like movies and television, but I'm someone that likes to read IMDB like a novel and watch every bit of special features I can get my hands on. Watching director commentaries is also a popular pasttime of mine. With all that background info, Andrew wasn't too surprised when I told him I wanted to visit locations from 10 Things I Hate About You on one of our last Seattle trips. Because we're both fans of the movie (and because this wasn't our first trip to the area), Andrew indulged me and we spent a good part of a day finding some of these iconic locations.

2016: Year in Review

Found the perfect clock for above the fireplace.

It's been a whole year and more since I've updated this blog. I can't believe 2016 flew by so quickly without a single blog post. Aside from settling into our house and finding the perfect decor, let's do a recap of some highlights of our 2016. If I get a chance to, I'd love to go back in depth on some of these.

Stitch Fix #6 - March Review

It's been one and a half years since my last Stitch Fix box. As much as I loved getting a box every month, I had to take a break and soon that short break became a lot longer than intended. Since I was just getting into a great relationship with my stylist, I was hesitant to go back and start all over again. It took a few boxes in to really feel like my stylist knew what I liked and I wasn't sure if it was going to be worth it. Stitch Fix must have been reading my mind because I received an email with a waived styling fee which made me finally delve back in.

Recap on how it works:
1) Fill out your Style Profile and schedule your first Fix.
2) Use your Pinterest board to your advantage! Pin what you love/hate and make notes. (Check out my board HERE.)
3) Get your Fix in the mail and decide what to keep and what to send back in the prepaid envelope.
4) Make notes on what you loved/hated in the Fix so your stylist knows for your next Fix.
5) Use the $20 stylist fee toward anything in the box. Keep it all and get 25% off everything.

Salt Lake Comic Con 2015: Saturday and Photo Ops

Chris Evans and Anthony Mackey's SLCC panel.

The last day of Salt Lake Comic Con was a great day for all of us. We decided to take along the kids and started the day off waiting for the Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie panel. This panel needed special tickets in order to get in which included different times you could get into the room. We were worried about the logicstics since we all had different entrance times, but it ended being very easy getting in. It was nice getting in so early without a crowd but the room definitely filled up quickly. This panel was the ultimate reason why Adnrew decided to go to SLCC so it was nice that we got in so easily and even better when Hayley Atwell crashed the panel.
